Many pros I spoke to about this Software says that it does not live up to its promise in any way and might be useful more for small home video projects instead of using it for professional and complex projects, maybe in a few updated versions it will get better.
I think this program is great for consumers, but the beauty of it is only realized. When you couple this software with Adobe After Effects, premiere Pro and Photoshop you have a powerhouse authoring product- but that software is not included.
With that in mind, I recommend Adobe video collection standard- this comes bundled with Premiere, after effects, Adobe Audition for about $450 more than this package.
If you want to know what encore can do. It can do almost anything that you can see in a studio produced DVD. Motion menus, custom buttons, video introductions can all be done here. But it's true power is seen. When you link it with Photoshop and aftereffects. It is great!
I would download the 30 day free trial of this program from Adobe to try it out to see If it would fit your needs.
