I have a small piece of video I need to simply encode to an .MP4 file to be displayed on a mobile phone. I edit using Adobe Premiere. Is there a plug in, or a stand alone program that i can use to covert the file to .mp4. (I can already export MPEG4 as an .avi but I need .mp4)
Okay, Divx has greater compression than MPEG2, but how does the quality compare? I have no experience with Divx, but wonder if I'm missing out on something. If the quality is as good as MPEG2, then I'm thinking I need to get educated. I'm not interested in putting videos on CD, nor do I keep movies on my harddrive. Using QuickTime Pro 7 to create movies that will be embedded in web pages. My focus is on making the movies accessable to the largest number of people. I was pleased with the compression offered by H.264, but I quickly realized that only people with QT7 could view it, which is too restrictive. The problem I quickly ran up against is that I have been unable to find these compression formats described anywhere. Can you lead me?
I'm having a problem that seems like it should be easy to solve, but I just can't seem to do it. I used Adobe Premiere Pro to create a 6 minute movie... nothing special... just video and sound. I need to export it so it ends up being around 50 Mb, but can't get even close. I ended up exporting an uncompressed AVI file that ended up being 3.2 Gb, with hopes of using some other software to compress it down to the right size. Can anybody recommend good software (and more importantly, good compression codecs and settings) to get the video down to 50 Mb?
I have tried to reduce the file size of a 12 minute video by using some codecs in my Matrox/Premiere system. I can't get any sort of reasonable quality until I get up to about a 60 meg file size. Is that what I should expect, or are there better codecs available that can compress it better, and to smaller sizes? What do people normally use to put something on a web site? I'm leaning toward Windows Media, because that seems to be the most available. Smaller screen sizes are fine - just want to see them with good quality pic and sound.
I am new to video and editing. I am using Adobe Premiere to put my simple home videos together and I want to distribute the video to friends over the internet. However, the AVI files that I have exported from Premiere are quite large for internet distribution, what is a good compression program or is there another way to decrease the file sizes of my videos?
